Launched at ID Mumbai 2025, the Anisora collection of lights for The White Teak Company by Asian Paints manifests artistry and functionality
Held on the last weekend of September, ID Mumbai’s second edition hosted impactful design conversations and innovative product showcases. Among the noteworthy product launches this time around was the Anisora collection of lamps. The series marks a partnership between Switzerland-based studio atelier oï and The White Teak Company by Asian Paints. Inspired by the latent strength contained within a seed, Anisora embodies the interconnection between nature and light. The idea is rooted in the name itself, which combines star anise and the Latin word ora, which means ‘light’.
The intricately crafted pieces further reinforce the metaphor. The light at the centre of precisely arranged natural white Spanish alabaster discs represents the idea of a sprouting seed. It gently radiates outwards even as it reveals the depth and dimension of the stone. The golden metallic details embellishing it are a nod to vintage chandeliers and lanterns. The impact is all the more powerful because of the interplay of materials and light.
The high-quality electroplating ensures strong illumination, while the design enhances its appeal as a design object. Converging the old with the new, craftsmanship with design, and form and movement, Anisora reflects its maker’s fluid approach to creating. In over 30 years, atelier oï —which means ‘troika’ in Russian—has sought to create outside the bounds of a single discipline. The studio, founded by Aurel Aebi, Armand Louis and Patrick Reymond, believes in moving seamlessly across different design verticals in the pursuit of creating distinct designs. The practice’s international collaborations span diverse brands—Fendi Casa, Hermès, Louis Vuitton—and genres—architecture, interiors, scenography and products.
The Anisora collection includes pendant lights, table lamps and floor lamps. For homeowners looking for contemporary artistry and strong function, these pieces satisfy both requirements.
