The Jaipur Story by Nilaya from Asian Paints has heritage patterns, warm colours, and delicate textures, all designed to fit seamlessly into the way we live now
There’s a certain warmth that only comes from things rooted in our own culture, the familiar curve of a paisley, the sway of a leheriya, the earthy comfort of sun-washed colours. The Jaipur Story by Nilaya from Asian Paints brings all of that to the walls, turning them into more than a backdrop.
The collection borrows from Jaipur’s many moods—the mirrored splendour of Sheesh Mahal, floral vines curling along old arches, patterns that feel like they’ve been lifted from a handwoven textile. But it doesn’t just replicate them. Each motif is reinterpreted and softened with watercolour washes.
Its palette has the shades of the city’s faded frescoes—dusky pinks, pale yellows, muted blue-greens. Tones that slip easily into a modern home but still carry the memory of sandstone walls and painted courtyards. Textures and contours add depth without shouting for attention, making them just at home in a cosy study and a sunlit living room.
You don’t have to change everything in your home for it to work. A single wall can be enough to shift the atmosphere, to make a room feel more personal, more lived in. Over time, it becomes less about the wallpaper itself and more about how the room feels—layered, warm and intimate.
