With the ColourNext forecast themes as a guide, these stylish pieces of furniture and accessories are perfect for every Indian home
As the largest, most trusted paint company in the country, Asian Paints has constantly been in the business of trying to ease every homeowner’s design experience. By launching a range of products and services year after year, the paint giant tries to innovate ways to find one-stop solutions for every home and décor requirement. With ColourNext (the only trend forecast team in the country) it also launches a Colour of the Year, along with forecast themes, to provide a slew of colour palettes and design ideas for each room.
This year, to allow homeowners to bring these trends into their homes, Asian Paints has also created a range of products that echo the colours and story behind them. From armchairs and cabinets to rugs and light fixtures, here’s a round up of the furniture and accessories we’re eyeing.
The Colour of the Year celebrates the power of embracing change. If you’re looking to switch up your home’s décor, pick a colour that’s different from the usual palette of shades you reach to. Transcendent Pink is not only a unique shade but also creates a statement in any room. You could either make a big change by switching out your seating for the ‘Hamburg' sofa and dining chairs or bring in the colour through a subtle print with the ‘Kamalika' floor lamp.
STYLE TIP: If you’d like a little movement within this colour, the ‘Bijoue' carpet displays a subtle ombre variation across its weave. The flower-shaped ‘Midori’ pendant light and ‘Evett’ wall light work as unique accent points for any room.
A deep shade of crimson is the overarching hue for the collection that signifies this bold and adventurous trend. Hints of gilded accents make the ‘Lorenzo’ accent chair and sofa glamorous statement pieces of furniture for the living room, which pair perfectly with the ‘Adriana’ marble side table. For a subtler sofa, the upholstery on Istanbul’ depicts a village scenery, which will tell a quiet story in every room.
STYLE TIP: For a quick room makeover, swap out your lights for either the ‘Agetha’, ‘Coretta’ or ‘Ciliza’ pendants, and tie the room together with the ‘Frida’ hand tufted rug.
Tranquil hues of blue and sea green come alive in this collection to echo Artify’s creatively charged trend forecast. The jaali-print fabric on the three-seater sofa and dining chairs pairs perfectly with the clean-lined ‘Exiter' coffee table to form a soothing seating arrangement in a room. While the sinuous curves on the ‘Nebula’ hand-tufted rug highlights this trend’s exploration of pushing the boundaries of creativity, the interplay of colours on the ‘Quorad’ pendant light is meant to resonate a happy mood in any space.
STYLE TIP: If you’re looking for one décor piece that strongly pairs Indian design with a contemporary style, the 'Silk Route’ lamp is the perfect buy. Its etched turquoise glass base also makes it a bold eye-catching accessory to liven up any side table.
Highlighting the growing awareness for mental health, this collection of products made with slatted wood and cane in neutral tones is meant to create a tranquil corner in any home. While all the pieces can be paired harmoniously together, a single accessory can also be used to immediately open up a room.
STYLE TIP: Made from natural materials such as mango wood and cane, the pendant and table lights in this collection will weather beautifully in outdoor spaces. Hang a row of ‘Wystan’ pendant lights in a balcony or place a ‘Fyrie’ table lamp in a patio or outdoor seating area.
Representing the spirit of self motivation and disruptive flexibility in the workplace over the past couple of years, the collection for Solo Commerce is versatile enough to make for a home office that converts into a common space for the entire family or when hosting guests. We love how multi-functional each piece of furniture and accessory is. While the ‘Neo Hustler’ floor lamp also has a small table built within its design, the ‘Imphal’ armchair is comfy enough to sit on for hours while working or kicking back with a book at the end of the day.
STYLE TIP: One of the trickiest things to manoeuvre in small spaces is finding room to store belongings. The ‘Imphal’ bookshelf has space in the centre to display a collection, along with cane doors to store away less visually impressive objects.
