The Asian Paints trend forecasts come with a variety of product offerings. From paints and furniture to fabrics, get ready to give your home a fresh look with these curated product ideas!
If you are the kind of person who enjoys updating their home décor every now and then, the Asian Paints’ ColourNext team has good news for you. The annual colour forecast curated by Asian Paints for the year 2023 have been released and each trend comes with a variety of product offerings. From paints to fabrics, they have it all. The challenge is what you choose for yourself and how you can style it. We are giving you some ideas on what you could achieve with these four styled looks.
TREND 1: GOTHILICIOUS
This trend brings out the true you and celebrates it through drama, mystery and depth. It plays with black and has dark contrasts with rough and edgy textures.
Style notes:
Start with a dark colour as your base like the Raven song wall paint. Don’t be afraid to go all out and make a bold start. Using a leather finish sofa will add a lot of character. We used the Agusto Leatherette armchair here. Use ornate frames for wall art. By using a dark textured rug like Calypso rug the place stays in harmony, while its soft surface will help balance the look. To finish the look, try bringing in some ambient lighting that easily melts into the setting. Something with a traditional or vintage touch is a plus. We have used the Clean slate wall light.
Since the Pandemic, many of us were deprived of the simple joys of engaging with nature. There is a deep desire to invite plants home and to look after them to amp up the decor and increase closeness to nature. This trend and its products let us do just that.
Style notes:
Start this base with a soft colour like the Amaranthus-n (K035) wall paint. Use furniture that has some sort of natural finish or texture like the Imphal Diwan.
Next, add in a lot of indoor plants in various shapes and sizes to add layers to your space. Add in nature related elements to feel fully immersed in the theme. Something like the Swan lake floor lamp is a quirky yet elegant addition to the setting. Use a soft shaded rug like the Roohe rug to tie everything together. Don’t forget to throw in some textured cushions to garnish the look!
If there is one thing the world is taking seriously at this moment, it is a good night’s sleep. After the focus on good health and fitness, the spotlight has now shifted to slow living. A need for calmness is gradually replacing the hustle culture. By making use of the products in this trend, anyone can enjoy a relaxing space and make the most of their beauty sleep.
Style notes:
Here, starting with a wall colour that instantly relaxes you will be perfect. Here we picked the Sound of music (8756). Next choose bed of your choice. For this look we chose the Warwick single bed. Go for a soft coloured side table, like the Foresta side table. Make sure it has space to keep all your bedside essentials. After this, select a rug that has a similar colour to that of the wall like the Remington rug. The curtains in the space should be soft coloured as well as textured, we used the Boon foam fabric here. Lastly, use a soft lighted pendant light like the Home already fixture, it also has a curved shape that makes it soft on the eyes.
There is beauty in nature and we are rediscovering it now. With each species comes an interesting element. May it be animals or plants, their unique shapes and characteristics have now started gathering interest. With this trend we display an open-minded approach and the elements help reflect that thought.
Style notes:
Taking the stereotypical 'weird' into our idea of a normal world is the focus of this trend. Start with a colour that draws our attention and generates curiosity. Here we chose the Persian Pottery (9652) wall paint. You can pair it up with an interesting wallpaper or texture, we used the Royal play Foam texture here. Next use furniture that has a quirk to its design. We took the Lorenzo accent chair for its unique looking legs and big curved edges. Using at least one element that has a natural texture to add character to the setting, we chose the Imphal side table. For the light, use one that can be a conversation starter like the Ongoing Love pendant. And lastly, the rug can be heavy on texture but a bit soft on colour so that it doesn’t grab all the attention but is still an important piece in the setting just like the Illuvia rug.
