Lockdown 2.0 comes as a challenge, but the Beautiful Homes Service team works with the homeowner and the designer to prevent delays and keep the project on track
The Bajaj home project is in full swing, and work is happening at a good pace. Over the past several weeks, it’s been a flurry of phone calls, sharing drafts, and discussions around paint finishes, furniture customization and more.
But there’s no such thing as perfect site and the first problem presents itself in the form of Lockdown 2.0, when there was a second lockdown in 2021. Like everyone else, the entire team involved in the Bajaj home project moved their work online. Says homeowner Sonia Bajaj, “So working in the pandemic was definitely a challenge and with BHS trying to monitor things remotely, we moved from meeting offline to meeting online.”
The Beautiful Homes Service (BHS) team takes the lead and finds a way to keep things moving, while following government guidelines. Namita Kaur, the Customer Experience Specialist at BHS says, “We had to regroup and reorganise everything. And we had to define what each team had to do.”
Namita and her team have a project management system in place to stay connected to Sonia and interior designer Jason Wadhwani and keep them updated on everything that’s going on. Sonia can check the status of an existing task, the status of an upcoming task, and track how the project is moving.
“BHS managed to find a system which would make sure that there were sufficient people on site trying to continue the work, and at the same time, they would adhere to the COVID regulations enforced by the society,” says Sonia.
With the BHS team handling the day-to-day operations during this period, Jason gets more time to move away from minute details and focus on the larger creative aspects of the project. And he’s more than happy!
He says, “I was quite impressed. Never before had I gotten monthly and weekly Excel sheets and reports on work updates which made the whole creative process much easier for me, and easier for me to focus on as opposed to the nitty-gritties of sites.”
The BHS team manages to see the project through the lockdown. With a major chunk of the work done, the next few weeks will be spent adding the final touches and moving in loose furniture—and getting the home ready for its family!
