It's also a great way to spend a creative afternoon indoors. Begin by scouting the neighbourhood for branches. If the wire bin you have needs some sprucing up, think about a quick coat of spray paint. Next step - source and select your feathery menagerie. Go all out with a Harry Potter themed owl and phoenix theme or stick with colourful bee-eaters, sunbirds, macaws and budgerigars - it's such a simple idea that virtually anything goes!
