Tom Dixon’s new collection is a nod to Indian artisans
Rock collection by British designer Tom Dixon celebrates the techniques used by Indian lathe artisans
Just ask any designer or artist, and they’ll tell you inspiration can strike anytime, anywhere. For British designer Tom Dixon, it happened when he was visiting hand lathe workers in Rajasthan and Agra, which resulted in his latest creation, Rock. Made from Green Forest marble, this collection comprises serving plates, candleholders and votives and even dumb-bells! What we love most about this series is it’s almost LEGO-like quality – everything is stackable so you can arrange the pieces in multiple ways for an updated look. And since everything is hand made with different blocks of marble, each product is unique, making it one of a kind.
The candleholders and votives from Rock collection are a set of five pieces that can be stacked to create a single centre piece or used individually as table toppers.
Inspired by the lathe artisans in Rajasthan and Agra, British designer Tom Dixon created his latest collection, Rock. Each of the unique pieces are made from Forest Green marble.
The dumb-bell in Tom Dixon’s Rock series can actually be used to workout. If not, use it as a paper weight.
